Data-driven ambition in the green energy sector
A large green energy company in Denmark has set itself the ambition to work fully data-driven in the design, construction and operation of its assets. The organization already recognized the value of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and initiated several proof-of-concepts across different departments. These pilots were not only intended to test the possibilities of BIM, but also to demonstrate the added value of structured and reusable data in everyday processes.
Wistor as the backbone of the Common Data Environment
To support this ambition, the company selected Wistor as the backbone of its Common Data Environment (CDE). With Wistor, data from different disciplines and phases can be structured, visualized and validated directly against the data models that define the project. This enables the client to test the quality of their information, monitor compliance with requirements and make data accessible across the organization without the need for time-consuming conversions.

The use of Wistor revealed benefits well beyond BIM alone. By connecting datasets and visualizing them in user-friendly apps, project teams could quickly identify inconsistencies, share insights and create a shared understanding across engineering, construction and operations. Federated queries and integrations with BIM and GIS tools made it possible to combine information from multiple sources, giving a complete picture of assets and their context.

This data-driven approach now helps the client to make better decisions earlier in the process, to strengthen collaboration between departments, and to increase efficiency throughout the lifecycle of their projects.
